A quick update — end of January 2024
I thought I would post a short-ish update regarding what I have been doing since the start of 2024.
Although I was able to get out during the first week of January — check out the One Hour Challenge video on my YouTube channel! — the main reason that I haven’t been out since then is because I am working on a project that is still very much in development. It’ll be a while yet until anything is revealed, but I am proud of what has been done so far while making sure I am crossing the T’s and dotting the I’s! Another reason for not being out with my camera a lot this month is that the UK has experienced some terrible weather since the start of the year, with strong winds having a major impact on people and wildlife. I do worry about the smaller birds in my garden when the weather gets harsh!
There has also been quite a bit of planning for wildlife photography projects throughout this year. Recently, my mind has felt much clearer in terms of what I want to find and photograph. This has either come from being inspired by other wildlife photographers, by the pictures they have taken or videos they have created on YouTube, or simply that I have been wanting to find specific species for a while and that this year might be the best year to carry most of the projects out.
In the meantime, it is unlikely that I will have any new video content on my YouTube channel over the next month, but I’ll make sure that I continue to post images on my Facebook and Instagram pages. I did manage to take some pictures of a flock of wigeon at RSPB Frampton Marsh the other week before hosting a photography workshop there. The sun was peeking above the sea bank and the wigeon were happily feeding on the grass in front of me, so I’ll leave a couple of pictures here to sign off with!
